Partition- Necessity of any hard drive
The “drives” labeled C: D: are actually partitions or sections of the physical drive. In every hard drive usually at least one partition is allocated. Partitions are necessary as you can not start writing files on a blank hard drive. After creating partition, the partition is formatted with a file system like NTFS on Windows drives, FAT32 file system for removable drives, HFS+ file system on Mac computers. Then only drives are considered ready for files to be written.
You might not want multiple partitions on your USB flash drive, but that’s not true for hard drives with larger storage area. Some of you might love to create a separate partition for personal storage data files. Multiple partitions can be created with different file system for example, many Windows computers come with a separate recovery partition where the files you need to restore your Windows operating system to its factory default settings are stored. When you restore Windows, the files from this partition are copied to the main partition. If the recovery files were stored on the main system partition, it would be easier for them to be deleted, infected, or corrupted. Partitioning isn’t something most users will need to bother with, but you may need to work with partitions when installing an operating system or setting up a new drive.
But first, you need to take some precautions. If you don't already have one, make a full image backup of the entire drive. Disasters happen.
Disaster in the sense sometimes you might not need partitioning or deleting a partition but unfortunately some factors may compel you to format a partition or at times even entire drive.
Most instances of partitioning do not destroy all of the data on the disk and much of the data on failed drives is often recoverable. Both consumer applications and professional data recovery tools and services are available to recover lost data. Which alternative to choose depends upon the value of the lost data? The more valuable the data on the drive the fewer non-professional recovery attempts should be made. Non-professional tools and system software (e.g., chkdsk) often fix errors by overwriting the file system on the drive. Though this may repair the file system, it permanently destroys the data. Disks with highly valuable data requires to be treated with utmost security and safety.
Partition Recovery Software is dedicated to provide affordable, easy-to-use software and support to allow users to recover lost data after partitioning without sending their media to expensive data recovery service.
One can employ this application to restore data from repartitioned drive on both Windows and Mac computers. Partitions Recovery software will be effective on Windows 7, Windows Vista, XP, Mac OS X, 10.5 X and above versions to retrieve data from repartitioned hard disk. If you want to restore partition on Windows 8 computer, click on this link: www.partitionsrecovery.com/windows-8.html. In addition, Partition Recovery Software could recover more than 300 formats of deleted files, mainly including *.pst, .xls, .doc, .ppt, .txt, .dbx, .db, .gif, .jpg, .psd, .pdf, .png, etc.. Partition Recovery Software, covers entire spectrum of Windows file system such as FAT, FAT32, NTFS; Windows operating systems like Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 & Windows 8, Windows 10 etc. To get more information on how this tool works to recover damaged hard drive partition on Windows 10 consider reading this page.
Let’s take an instance; you need to repartition computer hard disk as your system is running very slow because of a single partition. Then you decided to use Disk Management Utility to create new partition from the existing one. During this operation, you accidentally selected wrong partition and deleted it.
